A little bit about me:
For as long as I can remember, I've been interested in reading and writing. I was never without a book growing up, and my love of reading inspired me to create my own stories. It's always been a passion and a hobby, and I'm so lucky that I could finally self-publish my first book, Crash Course. I'm even more fortunate that it had such a great reception for a debut book from an unknown indie author, leading me to publish my next two books, The Highlight and Before the Exhale! So, thank you thank you thank you to anyone who navigated here because they loved one or all of my books! You don't know how much I appreciate you.

Below are answers to some frequently asked questions!

What is your writing process? What is your favorite part?
My writing process is kind of all over the place, but I am definitely more of a pantser than a plotter. The few times I've tried to outline or really plan ahead, I've lost interest in the story before I even began writing it! So, now I just discover the plot and the characters as I go along.

My favorite part is the beginning of the process—maybe the first 20k words or so. The ideas are flowing, the inspiration is vivid and bright, and I'm having fun exploring the characters. Words usually come easily at this point...until I hit the 30k mark. This is when I start to stall out and realize that just because I have a great beginning and intriguing characters doesn't mean I have a whole book. It has to go somewhere, doesn't it? Cue frustration and intense internal debate over whether or not I should just give up writing altogether! Luckily, I've figured out ways to cope with this hard part (sort of lol), and the books I have successfully published are the ones where I was able to push through. In the case of The Highlight, I actually did step away from the book for over a year. Eventually, I came back to it with fresh eyes and renewed enthusiasm. 

My other favorite part about writing a book is what I call the "polishing" phase. At this point, the words are written (and they're not half bad), but they definitely need some finessing. It's a lot easier to finesse a full page than a blank one, which is why so many writers advise you to just get the words on the page and worry about perfection later. I totally agree. You can't edit something that doesn't exist, and my writing requires a ton of molding until I'm able to get it in a place I feel happy with. 

What's a typical writing day?
Since writing is not my full-time job (maybe one day!), I usually wake up around 7 and get a couple of hours of writing done before work. Luckily, I've transitioned to working remotely, so there's no nasty commute eating into my writing time. After work, I try to get another couple of hours of writing in. Sometimes it comes easily. Sometimes it's like pulling teeth. A good writing day is 500-1k words. An outstanding one is 2k+. And then, of course, there are always the bad days, where I'm lucky to knock out 200 words. Still, some are better than none!

What do you do for fun when you're not writing?
I play too much Sims 4 and post Sleep Token edits on my secret TikTok fan account. Don't judge me lol.

Will there be books for any other characters from Before the Exhale?
Originally, no. But there's been so much interest that I am considering it!

Are you working on anything new?
